Hello Everyone!
Dad, the story about Brother Sipple thinking I am still in the MTC was so funny. The Brazilians always get letters from their wards and church leaders, and I always think to myself. . . "Does my ward know where I am and what I am doing?" I got a letter from Jody Worthin and the Schofields this week so that helped me with my doubts. Also I got a letter from a little girl in the ward a couple months back. I sent her a letter this week. . . . her name is . . . oh . . . I forgot. I think she lives next to the Schofields.
FAMILY: I volunteered you guys for a service project! HA HA Are you ready to hear what you will be doing? Well my next door neighbor, Tarsila, will be going to BYU to study English. WHY is she going to do that, you might ask? Well she was dating this RM from the USA, and he IS a dirt bag!!!! Well, he totally helped her get into BYU and found her an apartment and everything. Why? He told her he was going to marry her. So she was all set to leave last month to go to the United States to marry him. (he had visited her in Brazil before, many times.) Well a month before she was going to leave, he called her up and dumped her. Thats cold! She is still going to go because she has paid for everything, and she is still going for the experience. However, she is going to be all alone. Without friends or family. She also told me she was going to pay for a taxi from the airport to Provo. And so I told her you guys would pick her up and take her to Provo. Just a little service project!!!! I´ll give you the details later - like when she´ll get there and stuff. She is going the 22nd of April . . . I think. You could also just wrap your arms around her with love because it's going to be hard for her, call every once and a while to help her with her English. So this is why I am thinking you need to do this. Her dad is not a member. He thinks the members are . . . hypocrites. Especially now that a RM did this to her. So I was praying and thinking, and I think if she goes to UTAH, and people aren't helpful . . . the dad will not like it. But if he sees some service, he´ll soften his heart. The whole family are members, for 13 yrs, but he has never been baptized. So you can help her out and also help out the missionaries here!!! So just kinda adopt her, be her family. Just think of all the things HER mom does for me here, and help her. Call her, and help her with English, take her to temple square, just little things every once and a while. Can you do that? I think its a good idea to serve someone? Well I am just doing the same old here. However, next week I will be working again. Doing eveything normal again. So I am excited! I am just loving the mission. We found a man who was robbed while on vacation and needed help. We brought him into the church and we gave him food and cleaned him up and gave him new clothes. It was such a sweet experience to me because it reminded me of the good Samaritan.
