(Jared was running a high fever and spent the night in the hospital. He is OK - not yellow fever or anything, for which we are thankful.)
Carnival- huh. Carnival . . . What's carnival? JK. Carnival is like that party in New Orleans . . . Mardi Graw (I dont know how to spell that). It only happens in some cities-and Cuiaba is not one of them. I didn't see anything wierd or different except that the streets were empty. I guess there are parts of Cuiaba that have parties, but of course you have to go looking for the evil. Well what has happened this week-other than adventures in the hospital! What an experience! I haven´t even told all of the adventures. They checked me in and I went up to my room. I just went to sleep and my fever already started dropping. When I woke up the next day my fever had dropped all the way back to normal. This is when the adventures begin. . . Here in Brazil there is none of this "you can't talk about God here". So my companion had left the room to go grab some paper work and then this lady walked in. At first, I thought she was a nurse but then she introduced herself as some . . . prophet thing. She told me her job in the hospital was to pray for the patients. So I told her sure she could pray for me (I thought she would like take my name and pray for me . . . later). After I said sure, she yelled back "Amen Brother!" Not only was she going to pray for me she gave me a sermon first! Which trust me . . . was full of "Amen" and "Gloria!" My companion came back during "The sermon in room 118" and sat down and began to really enjoy it all. (He is a convert) He was saying "Amen" after everything this women said. "Amen brother"- Missionay lady "Amen"-Elder Pereira. She started to pray and gave me some blessing that I would get better and then left the room. She couldn't leave in silence- she ended with a "God bless", which was followed by a "Amen" by Elder Pereira.

This made me laugh so hard. I can imagine if I were there I would have let out a few chuckles.
I'm glad to hear Jared's doing better.
