Well happy new year!
I can't believe its 2009! Well this last week has been CRAZY! Still I have no baptisms in this area! I was really discouraged- but things are looking up . . . well kinda. I am excited to work but everyone keeps throwing curve balls!!! ah!!!! My companion has had some problems this last week. First he wanted to go home- but that past, but was followed by food poisoning! YAY!!!! So the working is being limited. Also I had a leadership meeting in Cuiaba on Monday and then another meeting in Cuiaba tomorrow. Anyway then later that week we tried to mark a baptism for Wellington. He doesn't feel sure about it. He know sthe church is true but doesn't want to be baptized. Here is when we will prove our faith! Everyone who is reading this e mail- family, friends and beloved bloggers! PRAY FOR WELLINGTON! The whole branch he will pray for him and now all you guys will pray for him and he will be baptized. Everyone pray that he will understand that this is the true church and he needs to baptized. I have learned so much about prayer in the mission and I have no doubt he will feel the power of the prayers! Just think . . . My companion and I are fasting and praying for him, then there are about 50 people here in the branch praying for him, all the missionaries in the disrtict are praying for him, Pres. Milder is praying for him, my zone leaders are praying for him, and now Mom and Dad will be praying for him. Not finished yet, Alicia, Brett, Tyler, Spencer, Drew, Lindee, Zander, Tate, Ellie, Seth, Cameron, Trent, Lichelle, Ryan, Stacy, Craig, Sheena, Eric, Shandra, and all the faithful bloggers, such as Marlene, Nicole, The Bytheway´s, Emily and friends all over will be praying for him. Just think of the power behind these prayers!!! He´ll be baptized, because there is a lot a faithful prayers coming from a lot of faithful people! So remember in your prayers his name- and pray specifically for him! He´ll feel the power!
I was studing yesterday while my companion threw up - food poisoning. It was a great talk about staying out of the world- it's in the general conf. Ensign from Nov. 2006. He talked about something so interesting, that our spirits can't handle being in "uncelestial places." But why? Why do we feel bad when we enter into places where we can't feel the spirit- or why do we feel bad when we do something wrong? Everyone says its the light of Christ- well it is, but also he said it's because our spirits remember what its like to be in the presence of God. Our spirits remember what it's like to live in the celestial kingdom. I just thought about this for a really long time. So when I teach someone, without a doubt they feel the spirit because their spirit remembers what it's like to be in the celestial kingdom and wants to return. When we feel the spirit we are receiving a small reminder of what it's like to live with our Heavenly Father, because our spirits want to return. Moral of the story- always be in areas where the spirit can always remind us of our eternal goal- to return to him. Isn't that cool to really think about.
love you all
