Well Adarcia is still preparing to be baptized. She is living with a man . . . but not ya know LIVING with him. She lives with some friends and one is a man... however, the branch pres. wants her to move first. So I helping find her a job so she can move! So I am just praying that we can find someone to be baptized. I am training right now and I´ll feel really bad if he doesn,t baptize in his first transfer because he'll think it's ok to go a whole transfer without baptizing . . . but in Brazil, it's not very common. So pray for me!!!!
I got transfered to Cáceres three weeks ago and was called as district leader, and a trainer to an American. So I am in a new area trying to figure everything out! I feel so lost but wow the lord is blessing me so much! The revalation you receive as a district leader is amazing! My district is my companion and 2 other missionaries here in Cáceres. Elder Hicks and Elder Higino! Well Elder Hicks is having a ton of problems! He is in his last transfer and doesn't want to go home!!!!! So he is really depressed! You would think he would want to work hard since he doesn't want to go home? NO!!! He is a bump on a log. He's a character, I will have great stories when I get home.
My companion is learning really fast. We went to a leadership meeting this week and I think he was talking better than the other new guys! That's my pride as a trainer!!! One Elder... Elder Nathan Jackson is from South Jordan UT, he graduated in 08 from BINGHAM!!!
So here is another "Jared Perry" Story! So I was walking home one night. And Cáceres is a college town, so the majority of the people are cool college kids. Well I just happened to be walking in front of the hot spot on campus. It's like an outdoor hangout spot where people eat and buy food and stuff. When I said walking in front I mean like . . . 2 feet in front of everyone eating. So I am walking with my head up smiling at everyone, cause that's what I do. And I know,. . . I know, I am a missionary, but . . . I saw a table of pretty girls, so I start smiling at them and they are smiling back and I was just about to say goodnight (ya know, maybe give them a little wink, a little "gun" finger, and make a clicky noise with my tounge . . . jk jk jk). So I was about to say goodnight and woop! I stepped in a whole in the road. . . and I tripped, just a little bit though, soIi put my other foot out to try and catch myself, but since the road had melted on my shoe last week, the tar creates a slippery surface! . . . I was like a model . . . . on a wet runway! Trying to keep my cool, trying to keep my cool walk going, and keep it together, but all in all . . . still going down! poof I hit the ground. After all this I still had the thought . . . "Should I still say goodnight?" But no I just ran across the road laughing at my pathetic life! That's what I get for trying to say goodnight to a cutie! My companion LOVED it!
