Why Hello!
This week is AWESOME!!! I have so much cool stuff to tell you! Well as I said last week, we had six investigators preparing to be baptized. And we had six baptisms!! Sadly, Jenifer, did not get baptized. One day she told us that- she really didn't want to get baptized, or she wasn't feeling ready. We invited her to pray and she looked at us and just told us she didn't even want to know more. So we let her go. SAD! However I know she´ll think about the gospel and maybe one day she will accept it. Well as I said we had six baptisms. Arlindo and his family, two little girls, and a girl named Larissa. Larissa went to church to watch Karolainy get baptized, and we talked to her and she was baptized as well. Karolainy is doing so GREAT! She reads the strength for youth and puts the principles she learns in action. She sent all her clothes to a sister in the ward to sew them and make them modest. She helped us baptize Larissa and this week we are going to baptize their friend Jaine. When we went to teach Jaine the word of wisdom, she already knew everything, because Karolainy had taught her everything. Cool! The girls in this branch are so good. They are so excited for missionary work. Can you just imagine . . . every Sunday they go out and visit all the girls who didn't go to church and THEY HAND OUT PASS ALONG CARDS! They are fired up. All the members are just fired up right now because they just announced our branch will become a ward this September! We are receiving so many referals! Arlindo and his family are doing great as well. Last night we visited them and the 10 yr old son and 12 yr old daughter told us they received a dollar fifty and he has set aside 15 cents to pay their tithing. The two girls, Vanessa and Nicole. Will be hard to confirm them I think. Their dad started screaming with them when they got home from church (he's a drunk). The mom said they could be baptized. Remember Vera? Rubens, Ramons, and Renans mom? She knows the church is true but isn't married and is Catholic . . . just isn't ready to be baptized but knows it's true. Do you remember her? Well she told us she would handle this, it's her brother. We know if we pass by their house- the dad will just get madder. It's just one big sad situation. 'The Lord know the girls hearts. Laide is doing so good! She reads the Book of Mormon so much! Have you ever heard of a recent convert that reads the Book of Mormon, Gospel Principles, Our Heritage, and The Teachings of Joseph Smith? Thats Laide! She has such a good habit of studying the scriptures! She is in Mosiah, she always STUDIES the lessons before Sunday (she could probably teach the lessons) and she started reading Our Heritage this week. One day she asked us what D&C was. We told her- and she looked at us and said-"Well I need to get me one of those." She also said the same thing about "The Miracle Of Forgiveness." ha ha She is so great. She fasted last Sunday as well- she is doing great! Rubens, Ramon, and Ranan are doing great. Ramon and Renan call me Elder Perigo, which means Elder Danger. They are so funny. They are either crawling under the table to tickle our feet or stealing Elder Newby's glasses, or making fun of my Terrible haircut! Ramon always gives us hugs goodbye. They are trying to get better at reading the Book of Mormon. If we mark a part to read they always read it, however they are trying to get in a habit of reading without us marking the part. Rubens received the priesthood this Sunday, and he is excited to use it. We just had transfers and Elder Newby and I will stay together! Thank Goodness. The members were nervous one of us would leave. A girl in the ward called me SERIOUS! I must be changing a little bit. When she said that my companion laughed and another member said "Well I don't think you know Elder Perry then."
